Event Staging vs Home Decor It's In The Details
One of the things I enjoy is blogging. The other thing I enjoy is writing about it. Why? Sometimes they are so similar you can't tell the difference. Some clients are rather amazing to me in their request for my event planning services. These are clients with the usual request. Things I haven't done before or haven't thought of creating in an event before.
What is the difference between writing about staging and writing about home decor? Sometimes, there isn't a difference other than product descriptions. In these two photographs, you see a photograph of home decor and one is a staged event. Guess which is which? I will not switch the items and you'll be surprised at the truth.
The first right to left is a table with computer and work supplies. The bench seating around the table is more used as a place to buy decor rather than as a place to seat and eat. The light around the table is inviting the view one you can imagine. The gentle call of this light allowing you the freedom to accomplish your work goals for the day. There is nothing as nice as working in a well lite work area. The modern table is round, with plenty of workspaces to accomplish the day's work goals.
The second photograph is a modern kitchen area with a clean line and minimal appliances showing. The table is more of a vertical style in this photograph. The table is more inviting as a place to sit and eat. A comfortable place for family and friends. This area offers beautiful lighting with large windows facing the outdoors. There is a workspace just to the left of the table. This implies the table isn’t used for work.
Have you guessed which photograph is home decor? What photograph is event staging? When I first began this business I thought WOW! Why would you want house seating at your event? Then I continued and understood why staging home decor in an event is important. (I’ll save it for another blog.)
If you guessed the second photograph is staged then you're correct. The kitchen and table provide a comfortable place for the people to sit. Shall I tell you the secret? Don’t tell anyone I told you. The very back wall is a photogram scene. Much like a green screen, it provides the guest with an atmosphere of home for their event. The workspace area and table and chair are decor rentals.
The first photograph is a modern table that can be purchased at Jerome's. This modern table is a beautiful piece that can be added to any home today. Its modern clean lines placed in an appropriate room in the home make for a good addition.
I hope you enjoy reading this blog. You can click on the link for Jeromes if you would like to purchase this Home Decor Item.
